For entertainment applications both indoor and outdoor, AerChannel provides a unique solution that allows venues to become magnets for their patrons who are informed and entertained on the premises. Live TV or pay-per-view sporting events can be integrated with branded dynamic messages from local sponsors, thereby increasing sales and generating advertisement revenue for the venue itself.

SMS promotions and contests can be created and managed entirely with AerChannel. These interactive events can be scheduled simultaneously while live TV or other content is shown on all or part of the screen.

Indoor Entertainment Case Study: Pub Network, Europe

Roundstone TV, a media company in Ireland, wanted to create a network of high value pubs around Dublin, Ireland and build a business for advertising during sporting events at these pubs. While the televised games (soccer, Gaelic football, rugby) aired, the pubs would show the TV feed. However, during breaks, all or a portion of the screen would be used to promote the local pub or its advertising partners, as well as allow pub patrons to play a number of competitions using their mobile phones.

Roundstone TV picked Aerva to provide the technology and the server management for the entire network. RTV signed up the pubs and advertising partners and also created the branded content for the sponsors, advertisers and venues.

Roundstone TV uses a number of interactive applications, such as SMS Voting, SMS Polling, Text-to-Screen, and SMS Jukebox to create an atmosphere of excitement in the pubs, thus increasing the "dwell time" of the patrons and providing them with an engaging experience. RTV takes advantage of AerChannel's sophisticated content authoring, content scheduling and layout engines, as well as the reports and auditing features, to track all advertising and sponsorships.

Outdoor Entertainment Case Study: Kennywood Parks

Kennywood Entertainment owns 4 theme parks in the Pittsburgh, PA area and wanted to open the 2007 season with an interactive display network deployed at 3 of the parks. Kennywood wanted to make sure that they could support any kind of content, especially Flash, and even images or videos submitted by the park visitors. There was also a requirement to support advertising and sponsorship on the system.

Kennywood picked AerChannel to drive all the screens in their outdoor display network. Aerva engineers trained Kennywood content consultants, who manage the network media and schedules on a daily basis. Interactivity via SMS is also available to them.

The rotation of the content is frequent and is organized by park groups and time of day. All the content is managed by Kennywood's team at a remote site. The LCD displays are installed outdoors, typically where visitors wait for a ride or in areas where people congregate. Kennywood also uses AerChannel to run a video wall at a large outdoor stage.
