3CDC picks Aerva to drive LED Board in Fountain Square, Cincinnati, Ohio | Print |

Cambridge, MA and Cincinnati, OH. December 5, 2006. – The Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) picked Aerva, Inc.’s technology to drive the Mitsubishi outdoor LED display at Fountain Square, a critical element of $42 million revitalization that was completed in October 2006.

Aerva drives the 42’ x 28’ Mitsubishi LED display, which is a centerpiece of revitalized Fountain Square. The vision for the revitalized Square is based on spurring economic development throughout the district and creating a highly valued asset that anchors Cincinnati’s downtown as the economic, cultural and civic heart of the city.

Bill Donabedian, Managing Director of Fountain Square Management LLC stated, “Aerva provided us with the most powerful, flexible, and simplest to use solution available in the market. We are able to customize the use of the LED board to the multitude of events and programs that are slated for the Square. The LED board has become a landmark destination and serves as the showcase for the activities of our organization.”

Sanjay Manandhar, President of Aerva, emphasized, “We are delighted to be empowering the giant outdoor LED display at such a notable venue as Fountain Square. By combining our state of the art software platform, a display-independent engine, and interactivity with users’ phones we are able to enhance the value of large outdoor displays like the one in Cincinnati by providing rich customized content.”
Aerva, Inc, is quickly becoming one of the most recognized providers of advanced digital signage systems in the US and Europe. The key to Aerva’s solution is integration of digital signage with mobile applications, thus allowing interactivity between the LED board and people’s cell phones. Such flexible platform goes beyond traditional signage, enabling a wide gamut of activities, promotions and games/competitions for pedestrians, TV viewers and others, all in a single product.

Donabedian continued, “We were looking for a solution that could be managed from multiple locations by a number of different stakeholders (content creators, program managers, sponsors, advertisers, etc.)” Aerva provides scheduling and screen management tools as well as powerful reporting and content management and SMS/MMS campaign management features with a deceptively simple web-based user interface. “The Aerva team provided training to all our staff so that we are able to create our own content and run and manage the LED board on our own. It couldn’t be simpler.”

At the heart of Aerva’s solution is an engine to make any kind of video, graphics, textual or ticker content be placed by both the occasional or the power user, permitting the widest wide range of users to create content and assign scheduling. The solution, therefore, provides the flexibility to target content by venue or by specific zone(s) within a venue.

Scalability is trivial with the Aerva solution. “Customers can manage and schedule one screen or mix and match hundreds of screens—all remotely and each with its own content and schedule. By providing functionality previously found only in high-end systems but at a lower cost, Aerva has focused its offerings on those organizations—both big and small—that wish to fully leverage the value of their venue and use of on-site promotions, advertising and customer information,” according to Manandhar.
